Our very own Jane Lubchenco will be featured tonight on OBP’s Oregon Field Guide at 8:30p on OPB-TV. In celebration of OFG’s 30th season, they are following up on some of their most popular stories across the years, including one they filmed tide-pooling with Jane in 2003. Last August, a film crew accompanied Jane and Bruce to one of their study sites along the central Oregon coast. Jane and Bruce’s grandkids were visiting, so the story includes them as well. I hope you enjoy watching it! The producer is joking about pushing a twitter hashtag #RadGrandma !
The show repeats next Sunday (March 3) at 6:30pm. The story is also live online at this link: https://www.opb.org/television/programs/ofg/ -Cindy Kent

Bruce and Sarah were just interviewed for Portland's local KGW news station on the recent paper from Drew Harvell's group documenting the devastating impact that sea star wasting has had on sunflower stars in the US and Canada. Here is the link to the news clip! Jonathan, Jane, Duncan, and Alistair made it in too!

The clip shows footage of the whole field team as well as Bruce's bio450 class from Hatfield Marine Science Center, monitoring field experiments at our site near Yachats, OR. Graduate students Alissa and Zech, as well as Jonathan, a faculty researcher, make guest appearances in the clip (Jonathan is snorkeling at 2:34).
